Darn you, Blogger Gnomes!!

So I keep checking my own (well, our own) blog to see if there's anything new. And then I remember that if I want to see something new, I have to actually write a post. Sadly, the Blogger gnomes will not create interesting entries at night, surprising me when I check my posts the next day. Alas. The cats also do not cook dinner while I'm at work, even though I keep hoping that they will.

The latest news is that Justin and I have done the VAST majority of our registering. We went to Bed, Bath, & Beyond last Sunday and stayed for, oh, I don't know, seven years or so. It was fun, though: we FINALLY got to use the scanner gun! The lady at Dillards totally hogged it. We were not pleased.

I am very open to suggestions regarding wedding invitations. What did you other married folks do? Where did you get invitations from? I'm just pretty shocked at the cost.

Also, I'm looking for ideas for ceremony music. Trey's playing piano, so he's capable of whatever you pick. I just don't want any of the "normal" songs, you know? Always gotta be difficult.

Ideas, please!!!

"capable of whatever"...not exactly, but I appreciate the compliment. :)

I still think a medley of tv theme songs is in order

"It's the story, of a lovely lady..."

I have no ideas, but I am pretty envious of the scanner gun from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. When Scott and I got married we had to write down the sku numbers from every item we wanted on our list. It ended up being a short list!

I love the idea of a tv themes medley! Hey, look what I walked down to!
I really love the idea of having The Beatles' "All You Need is Love" in the ceremony somewhere...maybe as you leave. Trey could play that...he's capable.
Other than that, I'm boring when it comes to wedding music. Can't wait for this weekend!!!

Luckily, I already have the music for "You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma," so I think that one's a keeper.

Corrie, I have been pricing invitations also along with other kinds of wedding stuff. They are incredibly expensive but I found some online that I like that seem better priced that all the others I have looked at. (A friend of mine ordered hers from them and had a great experience.)

Warning: the website has some horrible ones!

Good luck with the wedding planning!

Hey there! I cant remember where we ordered our invitations from...somewhere like Bride's Mart etc. The press at Harding Uni (where I went for a year) printed awesome invitations for pretty cheap so I hear. They had vellum with a photo of the couple on top and then the invite underneath.
About the music...Scott & Kelli started a tradition that we followed of walking back down the aisle after the ceremony to "Everlasting Love" by U2. :) Love that song!

I couldn't remember if Karen and Shane used Everlasting Love in their wedding too. That would be fun if you guys used it... if you are U2 fans. I also think that song from Shrek 2 is cute... Accidentally in Love by the Counting Crows.

What about your dress? Where did you find it--or have you yet?
I tried the whole bridal salon thing on Saturday and was not too thrilled by the whole process.

No kidding...it's time for you to just scrap the gnomes and do it yourself.

Have a dress made of whipped cream. Just 1) Don't invite Chris Sills and 2) walk quickly, lest you drip away and become naked.

Somehow this makes me think of the kitty litter cake. Ewww. Good try, Mom, but I think there was something wrong with that cake.
